PM Modi Inaugurates Infinity Forum, Says Time Has Come To Convert Fintech Into A Revolution

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the Infinity-Forum on Fintech through video conferencing and said that that time has come to convert these fintech initiatives into fintech revolution.

In his inaugural address, the Prime Minister asserted that he is very happy to inaugurate this forum adding, ''We believe in sharing our experiences and expertise with the world and learning from them. Our digital public infrastructure solutions can improve the lives of citizens around the world''.

''Now is the time to convert these fintech initiatives into fintech revolution. A revolution that helps in achieving financial empowerment of every single citizen of the country,'' he said.

Referring to the digital revolution in India, the Prime Minister said that in the last seven years, India has registered 430 million Jan Dhan accounts, which shows how hard we work and with the changing times techniques are adopted.

He further said that as human beings evolved, so did the way of our transactions. From barter systems to metals, from coins to notes, from checks to cards. Today we have come a long way and have reached here. Achievements like mobile payments to ATM cash withdrawals were achieved in India last year.

Regarding Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), PM Modi said that GIFT City is not just a base, it represents India. It represents India's democratic values, demand, demography and diversity.

''GIFT City is the gateway to the global fintech world,'' he added.

Many prominent personalities of the industry including Reliance Industries Limited's Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani (RIL CMD Mukesh Ambani) are participating in this forum.

Infinity Forum is a Fin-Tech based forum. Its aim is to bring together business and technology talent from all over the world. The Infinity Forum is being organized by the International Financial Services Center Authority (IFSCA) under the aegis of the Government of India.

The purpose of the forum is to bring together business and technology talent from around the world. Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) and Bloomberg are collaborating in the event. Representatives of more than 70 countries are participating in this two-day event.
